During the Day:
Who: all students and passersby
What: writing-related games and activities to remind us that writing can be fun
When: Monday, October 20th from 12:00-4:00
Where: Social Science (SO) Building Rotunda
Why: because everyone writes, and everyone likes fun distractions between classes!
During the Evening:
Who: students, faculty, and community guests
What: a celebration of writing featuring a reading of winning pieces from the student "Flash Fiction" contest and selected pieces from recent or forthcoming publications by English Department faculty members: Andrew Furman, Kate Schmitt, and Mark Scroggins.
When: Monday, October 20th at 6:00 p.m., reception to follow
Where: the University Center for Excellence in Writing (GS 215), located inside of the Center for Teaching & Learning.
Why: to recognize students and faculty and to be reminded of how writing can be a reason to come together as a community!
